INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (SUBCLASS 416 VISA)

International Communication Plaza Pty Ltd (ICP) has been officially recognized by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) as a provider of the Special Program, subclass 416 visa, commonly known as an Internship visa.

 

ICP is one of few companies in Western Australia to be issued with 200 Special Program visas with emphasis on work experience and cultural exchange.

 

The Internship program is an exchange program where an Australian company hosts a young professional from another country in order to enhance the intern’s professional skills and experience within different working environments and different cultures.

 

The program is implemented in various international markets including but not limited to: Europe, Asia, North and South America as well as Africa. The program targets international graduates and/or young professionals who would like to gain work experience or gaining professional qualifications while learning new skills in the area of their employment or studies.

How does the program work?

 

The Program is tailored to the needs of young professionals wanting to extend their career development goals by means of professional experience in an Australian company.

 

ICP acts as an intermediary between an intern and an organization, acting as a host company. The internship program is offered for a period of 6 or 12 months.

 

 

What is required of a candidate (intern)?

 

Candidates need to specify the goals that they would like to achieve throughout the Internship. These goals need to be consistent with their professional skills and educational background and the overall purpose should be in line with that of the 416 Internship visa; this being the expanding of knowledge and experience of the Australian culture.

 

Candidate prerequisites:


1.    Aged between 18 and 30

2.    Adequate health conditions

3.    Needs to be of good character

4.    Needs to possess required proficiency in English to be able to achieve their goals

5.    Have sufficient funds to cover a return plane ticket to Australia and cover their living costs in the interim.

 

Requirements for a prospective employer (host company):

 

The employer would need to issue the prospective employee with a Letter of Offer/ Invitation outlining the position offered. The document provided should detail the proposed position and state the training benefits to the candidate along with the details of the salary.
